Can SLE Lead to End Stage Renal Failure
SLE is an autoimmune disorder, in which the body's immune system attacks various systems and organs in body including lung, skin, heart and kidney etc, among which the kidneys are especially vulnerable for people with SLE. People who are diagnosed with Lupus Nephritis are at high of developing End Stage Renal Failure.
How does SLE affect the kidneys?
In healthy condition, when foreign substances known as antigens invade into body, the immune system will produce antibodies to fight against bacteria and other infections. Afterwards, antigens and antibodies will form immune complexes and finally filtered out of body by kidneys. However, with SLE, the antibodies are no longer to tell the difference between harmful foreign substances and the body's own healthy tissues and cells. As a result, the antibodies and antigens combine with each other and form immune complexes in blood. The immune complexes will enter into kidneys through blood circulation. To remove the foreign substances, the body initiates an inflammatory response which can impair the glomeruli. If uncontrolled, the inflammation in kidneys will cause more and more damage to kidneys and gradually lead to kidney fibrosis. Finally, the glomeruli will become sclerotic and the kidneys can not function adequately and End Stage Renal Failure occurs.
How to treat End Stage Renal Failure due to SLE?
The therapy should focus on two points: regulate immune process and restore impaired the impaired kidney tissues and cells.
The combination therapy of the Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy and Immunotherapy is adopted to treat End Stage Renal Failure caused by SLE and has showed up dramatic curative effects. The renal function will have remarkable improvement. It will help people avoid dialysis or reduce frequency for those who have started dialysis.
