Kidney Failure Patients should Choose Right Treatments
Kidney Failure is a progressively medical condition. Patients with different stages of Kidney Failure should choose corresponding therapies.
There are two categories for Kidney Failure treatment: one is the corresponding treatments for before-Renal-Failure-stage, supportive therapy is often adopted; the other is replacement therapy, and is usually used when condition progresses to ESRD. Here, we will focus on the former one.
The supportive therapy in first stage mainly focuses on preventing primary kidney disease together with adopting conservative medical therapies, with the purpose of preserving remaining nephrons as much as possible, so as to delay the arrival of Renal Failure. Here are several principles:
1. Eat a proper diet. Primary principles are low protein, low salt, low potassium and low phosphorus. All those restrictions should be followed without slackness. Diet contributes to reduce kidneys' burden with an obvious effect. Stop posing heavy burden to your kidneys, start from your daily diet now.
2. Control the blood pressure well. Blood pressure has a complex relationship with kidneys. Anyway, taking good control of your blood pressure benefits one's kidney health and cardiovascular system.
3. Take corresponding treatment for anemia. A long-term anemia imposes the burden of heart, triggers a series of heart diseases.
4. Correct the acidosis. Acidosis develops as reduced kidney function aggravates. A standing acidosis will consume muscles, trigger bones loss, and increase the risk of bone disease.
5. Manage hyperlipidemia. More and more people consider hyperlipidemia as one of the main culprits of kidney disease, of course, including Kidney Failure. Hyperlipidemia may elevate glomerular internal pressure; stimulate hyperlipidemia of interstitial cells and hyle. Consequently, causing chronic glomerular injury.
The above are just some conventional as well as effective ways to deal with Kidney Failure, there can be more. If you have any other questions, feel free to leave a message in the below.
Smoking Does Raise the Risk of Kidney Failure
More and more studies have shown that smoking raises the risk for developing Kidney Failure.
Take this for example, patients with high blood pressure have no urine protein when they have no kidney damages. However, if they smoking, proteinuria may occur frequently. Smoking impairs filtration function of kidneys.
According to the September 2011 Issue of Renal and Urology News, among those individuals who are younger than 70 years old, those current smoker along with former smoker are at 3.3 and 4.0 times high risk for developing Kidney Failure compared with those who never smoked before.
Even those who have already quit smoking are still at a high risk of Kidney Failure than those who never smoked. Good news is that the risk of Kidney Failure will diminish with time since one quit smoking.
The findings came to light from a study of 65,589 individuals who participated in the HUNT II study, a Norwegian general health survey. During a median follow-up of 10.3 years, 124 subjects progressed to stage 5 chronic kidney disease. quote from the report.
As is well-known, smoking is extremely harmful to one's health, whereas it has become a popular trend especially among men. People with CKD should now be strongly encouraged to quit smoking. After reading the article if you are still smoking, I do suggest you to take a second thought. Smoking has no good to your healthy, whatever you are healthy or have already developed Kidney Failure, you should definitely stay away from it.

Chronic Kidney Disease: How to Live a Healthy Lifestyle
Chronic Kidney Disease: Kidneys function as a filtering system in human body. Normal kidneys are able to remove the excess fluids and electrolytes as well as wastes from your blood. However, as your kidneys are damaged, there's no way to eliminate all those toxins, resulting in wastes accumulating in your body. It can be fatal and need some serious attention.
Since you have developed chronic kidney disease, what should you do to stop it from worsening? Chronic kidney disease is not dreadful as long as you take good control of the disease, but how?
▪ To those who have diabetes, your blood sugar should be managed.
▪ To those with high blood pressure, take good control of your blood pressure.
▪ Control the cholesterol
▪ Live a healthy lifestyle, stay away from alcohol and cigarettes.
▪ Follow a sound diet, which greatly benefits your kidneys.
▪ Avoiding renal toxic drugs can prevent the condition from getting worse.
▪ Taking regular check-ups
There's a good prognosis of chronic kidney disease, but need your precautions. Don't learn the disease only in the end stage, because as the condition enters into ESRF (end-stage renal failure), dialysis or kidney transplant would be inevitable.
Renal Osteopathy: A Common Complication of Chronic Renal Failure
Renal osteopathy, a common complication of Chronic Renal Failure, brings a
great deal of injury to the patients.
Symptoms of renal osteopathy
Bone pain and fracture. The pain usually occurs in lower back, knees and lower limbs. The lower back pain may be attributable to vertebral body collapse. In most cases, the fracture occurs in rib.
Joint aches and arthritis - usually occur in knee-joint usually along with burning, swelling etc.
Calcification. As the blood vessels have extensive calcification, ischemic necrosis and skin ulcer usually occur in finger, toe, thigh and arm.
Bone deformity and growth retardation. For the children with Chronic Renal Failure, they are at developmental stage. Bone deformity can retardate their growth and development.
How to deal with renal osteopathy in Chronic Renal Failure?
1. Control the intake of foods high in phosphorus and avoid the foods rich in phosphorus such as animal organs, banana, oranges etc.
2. Keep normal calcium level in blood
Take some oral calcium. This can improve the transportation of calcium in blood.
3. Vitamin D 3
For the patients on dialysis, when they do not present symptoms of renal osteopathy, they should take some vitamin D3. Vitamin D3 can promote the absorption of phosphorus by intestinal tract thus lowering its level in blood.
4. If the product of serum blood value and phosphorus value is above 70 and the hyperphosphatemia and parathyroid hormone level increases, the patients can consider parathyroid surgery.

Why will ESRD Patients Experience Seizure
End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) patients often live with a bunch of annoying symptoms: the itching skin makes you failing to sleep at night; you are afraid of communicating and being a loner because of your foul breath; you are suffering from a serious headache which makes you irritability and emotional instability. Of course, seizures will never be forgotten.
Seizure often refers to an abrupt malfunction in the brain which is likely to cause the collapse and lose one's consciousness temporarily. Seizure in ESRD is caused by the low serum calcium level (hypocalcemia).
Kidneys are one of the most important organs associated with the metabolism of calcium. Once one's kidneys fail, calcium level in human body will be affected accordingly, which is responsible for the low serum calcium level.
Calcium closely associates to the body's health. Low serum calcium leads to seizures in whatever healthy people or patients. That's the major culprit accounting for seizures.
How to deal with seizures in ESRD? Instead of treating seizures, we should start from coping with the disease itself. After 26 years' research and uncompromising efforts, Chinese kidney experts have successfully invented a brand-new remedy which has already been proven to be effective in clinic--Immunotherapy.
Immunotherapy plays on the idea that dealing with one's immune system to treat ESRD. The concept derives over 95% of kidney disease is a kind of autoimmune disease. That's why Immunotherapy is exactly the right choice for people with ESRD. If you are interested in our latest Immunotherapy, feel free to leave a message in the below.
How to Treat Anemia and Elevate Hemoglobin Levels in Chronic Renal Failure
Many Chronic Renal Failure patients are suffering from anemia and very low hemoglobin levels caused by the decreased secretion of EPO by kidneys. Here are some tips can help the patients with these problems.
▪ Nutrient supplementation
The production of hemoglobin needs a myriad of nutrients. However, in Chronic Renal Failure, the patients may experience poor appetite so they can not get nutrients intake like iron, floic acid, etc. Additionally, as multiple vital organs are involved, it can cause mineral metabolic disorders. These nutrients can aid the production of hemoglobin mainly including iron, vitamin B6, vitamin B12, floic acid and vitamin C. Here are the richest food sources the aforementioned nutrients.
Vitamin C: Guava, brussel sprouts, papayas, blackcurrants, cabbage, broccoli, strawberries, lychees
Iron: cereals, green the leafy vegetables, tomato paste.
Vitamin B6: Whole grains, oatmeal, tuna, avocado.
Folic acid: corn, bok choy, asparagus, pineapple, raspberry, strawberry.
▪ Herbs
Herbs are rich in nutrients. They can enhance immunity and improve the health of red blood cells. These three herbs including withania, Dong Quai and nettle leaf have much benefits in improving hemoglobin levels. Also some activate substances can stimulate the DNA replication of impaired kidney tissues and regenerate renal functional cells. Consequently, the patients will have a remarkable improvement in renal function and the kidneys will produce more EPO than before.
▪ Optimal treatment
The underlying cause of low hemoglobin in Chronic Renal Failure is attributed to impaired kidney function. Therefore, the treatment should focus on restoring the damaged kidneys. Immunotherapy is the optimal treatment in restoring damaged cells, tissues and organs. Once the kidney structure is restored, the kidneys will recover its normal secretory function and produce more EPO. Therefore, the hemoglobin levels will rise up, thus relieving the anemia.
Management of Skin Problems in Chronic Kidney Failure
Chronic Kidney Failure patients may suffer from distinctive skin problems. The problems can torment them on mind and body. Is there any way to relieve those problems?
Common skin problems in Chronic Kidney Failure
Pale skin - related to chronic anemia. Pale skin is usually complicated with extremely fatigue.
Skin bruising - caused by reduced platelet count and impaired hemostatic function in blood system.
Dry skin: due to chronic dehydration. Also, dialysis can decease the function of oil glands, aggregating the skin problem.
Plaques or nodules: Due to calcium deposits in the skin, some patients experience firm plaques or nodules on the surfaces of the larger joint with a chalky material exuding.
Skin itching: Skin itching is a classic skin problem in Chronic Renal Failure. It counts for 60~80% in patients with End Stage Renal Failure. It is mainly due to increased phosphorus in blood.
Management of Skin Problems in Chronic Kidney Failure
1. Dialysis
Generally, dialysis can relieve these problems, but it is no use in restoring kidney structure and improving renal function at all. Also, dialysis is inadequate in removing phosphorus. That is why patients still have skin itching still on dialysis.
2. Medicated bath and Chinese herbal medicine
As the skin problems are associated with kidney disease, the most important is to treat the kidneys as a whole. In China, the combinated medicated bath and Chinese herbal medicine is applied to treat kidney disease. It has showed remarkable in improving renal function and relieveing skin problems and other complications of Chronic Kidney Failure
3. Choose hypo-allergenic soap and avoid long hot or warm bath and air drying of the skin. They should use moisturizer when the skin is still damp. Meanwhile, avoiding wearing tight irritating clothing is also helpful.
As the underlying cause is impaired renal function, what the patients firstly should do is to treat their kidney problem effectively and fundamentally.
